Purpose of the Position

The purpose of the student is to assist with the aims and objectives of Central Bayside Community Health Services (Adult Community Options) by supporting groups and clients with various activities and tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Client Support Workers/ Professionals and/ or clients with activities as per program;
  • If required, and if consented to by the client, assist with personal care, such as meal assistance and personal hygiene;
  • Support the rights of people with a disability, in accordance with the Charter of Human Rights;
  • Support client choice and control under the supervision of Client Support Workers/ Professionals;
  • Follow all ACO and CBCHS policies and procedures;
  • Undertake other relevant duties, projects and initiatives, which are consistent with placement requirements.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Currently undertaking study relevant to the Disability field;
  • Empathy, flexibility and confidentiality are necessary qualities, in fulfilling the stated objectives;
  • All students completing placement within ACO will need to provide an NDIS Clearance prior to commencing with CBCHS;
  • Current First Aid and CPR is desirable but not necessary;
  • Possession of current Victorian Driver’s Licence is desirable but not necessary.
